SafeTdance-dance
This was taken a few months ago by “Mad Matt,” an expert player of this game who operates mostly out of the remains of Universal Mall in Madison Heights. I finally tracked him down and got a copy yesterday.
I must say that my performance seemed much cooler in first-person perspective; third-person, not so much.
In case you are wondering, here’s the data on what you are watching:
- Song: Psalm Pilot
- Difficulty: Hard
- Style: Doubles (using both sides of the pad)
- Mods (changes to how the arrows appear on the screen):
- 2.5X (speed the arrows move)
- Boomerang (arrows go down before going up)
- Beat (arrows shake in time with the music)
- Space (the arrows scroll like the intro to Star Wars)
- Wave (arrows slow down slightly and then speed up right before they get to the top

I must say, the polka has certainly changed since I was a child.
You can dress real neat from no-hat to your feet
and surprise ‘em with a victory cry. Say, you can act if ya want to, if you don’t no-body will; and you can act real rude and totally removed, and sho’ can act like an imbecile.
Ahhh, the SafeT Dance. Very clever there, Veach.
Not so safe as you might imagine, and with my bald pate I probably should have a hat, unlike the men associated with the quoted ditty.
All I remember of the Safety Dance is the inexplicable presence of a maypole in the music video.
Maypole dancing is never safe, due to the risk of strangulation.
that was it..the saftey dance…jaysus, i need to quit having so much wine with supper! or was that with lunch? xoxox
Dude… you do realise these games have hand/arm movements too?! I don’t want to rain on your A+ awesomeness but without the arm movements the whole thing looks, well, like you’re a balding white man in the middle of a cockroach infestation…
Hmmmm… is that too harsh??!?!!?
Savannah: Hence the name of the post–SafeTDanceDance
Rich: When I’m doing a difficult stepchart (which for me this was) then I’m doing about all I can to get my feet where they go. If I’m doing an easy chart I have the luxury of waving my arms around like an idiot. But skill at this game is not really skill at dancing and the result is laughable in any case!
