Do You Have What it Takes to be a Princess

When six year old little girls call the shots then crowns, earrings, bracelets and rings become mandatory as we all stretch mediocrity to the stature of royalty. I did not partake at the time, because I’m far too pretty as it is. Any prettier and there will be morale issues at my office, and I’ll not sabotage my beautiful face again.

I’ve got one into pink and princesses and sparkles everywhere. I have no idea where she got it from. it certainly wasn’t from me. I was more of a dogs and trees and books type childlet. That only leaves the Problem Husband…
I’m away four months, and I come back to NO CLOSURE???
I have a daughter on the way myself, SafeT – well, the scan suggests so, anyway – so I’ll be especially intrigued by your postings and your archives in the coming weeks.
Sam: We are at a loss as well. Heather’s into hockey and motorcycles. I can only blame myself for being such a nancy-boy.
Foot:Well, Pedomasticator, I missed you as well. I have no advice to give as I’m a dreadful father.
You are not a bad father!!! Heather told me so!! I was there one day when Samantha wanted to eat with you at her little plastic picnic table in the back yard. You enthusiastically sat at that small table with her and ate. Heather looked out the window and said to me, “Samantha is so lucky. She will have such good memories of what her daddy did with her. He is such a good father” And, I agree. You two remind me of how my daddy and I were, except without the fishing. And that is a very good thing. LOL
Oh, and I do not know where Samantha gets the pink and frills either. Vicky was the same way, but I thought she got that from her Grandma Sophie, but, of course, Samantha does not have that excuse.
I was, believe it or not, a ‘Tom Boy’ when I was a girl, except, of course, I was not real successful with my handicap and all, but I loved playing softball, basketball, kickball, swimming, etc. I also loved to go to baseball games with Dad, and later high school football and basketball games with my friends.
There was even a time when I could not only tell you the names of all the major league baseball teams, but also all the names each one ever had and if they had moved around, all the cities they used to play in. I also liked professional boxing, but never wrestling, even as a child, I could see it was fake. But your Grandma Bandy loved it, especially Gorgeous George, and watched wresling, or as we said in southern Illinois, “wrasling” on TV every time it came on.
Oh, I did like to play dress up with my mother’s old cloths, but I was just as likely to put on an old shirt of Dad’s as a dress of Mom’s and I much prefered shorts or slacks, or jeans, to dresses and skirts, always.
