A new SafeT’une is here…
I know, long time no post. Nutso hours as the Ypsilanti (city between Ann Arbor and Detroit) project is in progress and many elements have not gone smoothly.
Here is the musical product. Please click to listen to the Damn Bells… or don’t. It came out well, and is another of my completely improvised pieces. Click on the CD:
The picture shown here is of a tunnel which connects various facilities within the Ypsilanti Community Utilities Authority Waste Water Treatment Plant, where I spent far too much time in the last two days. Click on the pic to enlarge it.

I thought it was nice but repetitive, which is understandable if you improvised the whole thing. Do you sing? I’d like to hear a song about coconuts.
No coconut crooning here, ape.
I don’t sing well at all, in any case.
Yeah, it was a bit on the repetitive side. Definitely not my best.
THe way these work is, I get a musical idea and I try it out. I then hammer out a bunch of minor variations to the original idea. When something else occurs to me, usually based on something I’ve added or taken away, I switch to that new idea and repeat the process. All of the pieces on SafeT’unes that end with “Improv” were performed this way. “Live” are pieces that are complete and reproduceable. Most started off as ideas in an improvised piece once upon a time.
HAHA Better than prison dude!
Ypsilanti…how the heck is that pronounced?
scruuw:I wouldn’t doubt it!
lotzothoughtz: It is pronounced like “ipp sih lan tea”
nice. i’ll give it a listen.
i really liked your script on censorship.
Sarah:Thanks! And, I’m sorry about the kittens, I really am.

Ypsilanti? Really? Interesting name. Below the Ypsilanti sounds like a good name for a book or a song. Speaking of which, when ever I click on the little CD nothing happens. What am I doing wrong? And yes, my sound is on and volume is up.
Wait a minute! That previous comment just sunk in. Kittens? What kittens? Something happened to kittens?
so u really r a safe T inspector then…..cool tunage.
Where do you find the time!!!
I did not know you were in Ypsilanti. When Tom and I went to St. Louis, we had to stop there to deposit the cash Sam’s Club gave us when I returned my first Averatec. I could not believe they actually gave us over $900 in cash, but apparently they do not have the capasity to credit one’s credit card. I like all your tunes. What kittens, where? Mama
anonymous: DING! That’s correct!
maria:OK! …not sure about this “beast” thing…
robin:Hmmm. Open http://safetunes.blogspot.com and get it from there.
Its just a MP3 file…
Oh, and about the kittens? http://safetscenes.blogspot.com
Maja:I really don’t!
Sue Lou:The kittens are in a SafeTscene. I knew about Sams. I returned a TV there once and they did the same thing. I felt nervous leaving with all the cash…
Good Heavens! Those poor kittens! At least they served a higher purpose.
mucho talented. damn bells is very good.
Robin: If you say so. I think their slaughter was reprehensible.
Sarah:Thanks.
